Focus, Heather. Focus.
I can’t seem to get with it today… I’m not tired, but my mind is being lazy. I keep looking out the window at this gorgeous, sunny day (our second one in a row) and wishing I was outside enjoying it, instead of sitting at my desk. It seems like it’s rained every weekend for a month, and most afternoons, too. I’m getting tired of the dreary days and thunderstorms.
Since I’m having such a hard time focusing on any one thought for any period of time, I figured it’d be a good day for a random update post.
First of all, Biloxi was a blast. When we checked into the Hard Rock Thursday night, we were pleasantly surprised to learn that we’d been upgraded to a suite. It. Was. Fantastic. We went from room to room, taking it all in like excited little kids. I think my favorite part was the shower – I swear it was as big as my kitchen – completely glassed in, with floor-to-ceiling mosaic tile. It had a massive shower head that flowed straight down from the ceiling, plus two more shower heads that hit you from opposite walls. In other words, it was friggin’ awesome. We spent a little time in the casino, playing three-card poker and blackjack. Of course, we didn’t win anything. But we still had fun.
The rest of the weekend was pretty low-key. We picked up Kit and Harley and spent most of the weekend around the house. Kit isn’t so sure about Maggie, but I think Harley is in love. Good thing neither he nor Maggie have any reproductive capabilities…. We’d be in trouble, for sure.
In other news, we’re getting closer and closer to the start of football season, which makes for a very happy Heather. In less than two weeks, I’ll be decked out in crimson and hounds tooth, cheering on the Tide. Just thinking about it makes me giddy with excitement. OH! And I found out that I’m most likely going to the Alabama vs. Florida game – tailgating in T-Town, then watching the game at Bryant-Denny with some of the biggest Bama fans I’ve ever met. Can you say ROLL TIDE??
Well, that’s about all the updating I can muster today. I’m sure there’s much more to say, but the clock is slowly creeping towards 4:30, which means it’s almost time to break loose and enjoy what’s left of the day. With any luck, I’ll get to watch the sun go down from the porch swing with a cold drink in my hand.
